Crystal Ski to open in-store booking desks with Snow+Rock

Back in 2010, Crystal Ski opened its first information pod at the Chill Factore indoor snow centre in Manchester.

This was quickly followed with pods opening at other indoor snow centres in 2011, including the Snow Factor in Braehead, Glasgow, and the two Sno!zone centres in Leeds and Milton Keynes, as well as at the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, which we also reported here on Ski-buzz.

Later this month, Crystal will be taking the next step in the growth of its retail presence, with the opening of two new in-store locations within Snow+Rock superstores at London’s Covent Garden and Romford in Essex.

Part of the strategy behind these new in-store openings is to focus on delivering information where the UK’s 895,000 skiers and snowboarders can be found when they’re not on the slopes.

Crystal’s Managing Director, Simon Cross said,

“This year we are increasing our presence in ski and snowboard superstores across the UK to be available for potential customers to ask questions and book with us. These desks should provide value to customers and will support the travel agents in the area.

As with the other Crystal outlets, customers will be able to book holidays, enjoy exclusive offers, as well as getting advice from experienced snow sports agents. Many of the Crystal Ski team have previously worked ski seasons, and know Crystal’s 100+ resorts worldwide first-hand.

Snow+Rock is the UK’s number 1 ski clothing and equipment retailer, with 22 stores across the country. Marketing Director Kevin Young said:

“We’re excited to be launching Crystal retail desks in key stores as it gives winter sports enthusiasts another reason to visit us and makes Snow+Rock the best place to start your winter season. We see Crystal as a great strategic partner for the coming winter season and hope to build on our partnership in the future.”
