Get More Andorra – The Lowdown

Categories Andorra

gmw-blk-non-cmykThere are a few things everybody knows about Andorra, like the fact that it’s a high-altitude, fairly snow-sure destination with a reputation for English-speaking ski schools of the highest quality. It also has two primary ski areas – both of a decent size – offering some of the best value European skiing out there. With that out of the way then, what’s stopping you? To help you on your way, here’s a rundown of our four Andorran resorts, and what they can offer.

Arinsal

Well known for its fantastic ski schools and its great snow record, Arinsal’s the perfect spot for Unstoppables. What’s more, the ski area itself is perfectly suited to Snow Plough Heroes – Arinsal’s main runs all feed into a single big bowl, making it harder to get lost or take too serious a fall. Plus, you can always venture further into the Vallnord area if you fancy a tad more variety – Arinsal’s sister resort, Pal, is just a chairlift away.

Soldeu & El Tarter

Soldeu has hosted the Downhill World Cup, which, if you’re a Kamikaze Kid or just a serious skier, has to carry some weight. Aside from that, both of these resorts have access to the Grandvalira ski area – 210km of high altitude, varied and balanced piste in the heart of the Pyrenees. Phwoar.

La Massana

La Massana offers a quieter, more family oriented alternative to some of the livelier Andorran resorts. Situated at the other end of the Vallnord ski area to Arinsal, you’ll have access to the same 93km of piste but from a comfier, slightly more upmarket base.

Pas del la Casa

Pas de la Casa has been described as ‘Ibiza on snow’. Some of you will have skipped the rest of this page, and the rest will have clicked the link to look at prices. On the off-chance that anybody’s still reading this however, here’s some more info: Pas de la Casa is a high-altitude resort with access to 210km of piste in the Grandvalira ski area, linking it to Soldeu and El Tarter. It’s lively and affordable, with an earned reputation for vibrant après. It also has the same high quality of ski school you’ll find across Andorra. Pas really can cater to every type of skier.
