Resort Spotlight: Tremblant, Canada

gmw-blk-non-cmykDesperate to get back on the slopes? Struggling to make a decision on where to go with your hard-earned holiday savings? No worries, we’re here to help. Welcome to Resort Spotlight.

More Resort Spotlight: Heavenly, Lake Tahoe – USA.

Where is it?

Tremblant sits in the heart of French Canada, just a little way northwest of Montreal. This means it’s still northerly enough to get properly cold, and offers all the best bits of Canada without the lengthy West-coast flight times you’ll see for resorts in British Columbia and Alberta.

What Are The Highlights?

A pedestrian village bursting with colour and personality, Tremblant is an excellent example of a purpose-built resort done right. You’ll find fantastic food around every corner – one of the advantages of being in French Canada – with rib joints sat comfortably next to crêperies. There are also loads of shops and a buzzing après scene. Tremblant’s a real all-rounder.

What’s The Skiing Like?

Tremblant mountain is deceptively big, with 665 acres of terrain yours for the taking. Its biggest draw is probably the massive variety of wide, tree-lined and impeccably groomed piste on offer. The ski area’s easy to navigate, and even has its own huge dedicated beginners area on the south side of the mountain. Intermediates will have an absolute blast carving off piste, into the trees and back again, while advanced skiers can find super-steep glade skiing and top-to-bottom bump runs on the North side of the mountain.

Who’s It For?

Not the gnarliest of Canadian resorts, Tremblant offers an all-round, traditional French-Canadian ski experience. It really does tick all the boxes – it’s family friendly, there’s fantastic food, great après opportunities and some seriously exciting skiing to be had. Check out their 16/17 season wrap below for a bit more context:

There we go then – it’s probably time to think about taking yourself away to Tremblant next season, no?
