Insider Tips To Help Pick the Perfect Accommodation For Your Family

gmw-blk-non-cmykFinding your home-away-from-home can be the difference between enjoying your annual ski trip and having the winter adventure that you’ve always dreamed of. Choosing the right accommodation can add an extra special layer to the family holiday experience, and we reckon these pointers will help make the decision that little bit easier.

Doorstep skiing

Ski-in ski-out accommodation really is the dream when you’re away with the kids – carrying skis, catching buses and trying to keep young ones in your line of sight adds an element of complication that we’d all rather avoid.

Ski-to-door accommodation is most commonly found in newer, purpose built resorts. You’ll find lots of these in France.

Family-friendly facilities

When you’re choosing accommodation, keep your eyes peeled for things like swimming pools, games rooms, interconnecting rooms, kids’ dinners and baby equipment.  Your kids are also likely to find new chums among other families staying in the same accommodation. When it comes to sheer volume of stuff to do, it’s tough to beat the Nordics: catch a once-in-a-lifetime husky ride, pay a visit to Santa’s actual real life home in Lapland or head out on a reindeer safari just to name a few.  Here are a few of our favourite family resorts in Norway & Finland:
